Not-So-Random Acts Of Kindness
The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali are directions for us on how to live with kindness, peace, truth and collective consciousness, always mindful of the effects of what we say and think on others. A true yoga practice historically involved an intensive and mindful study of one's own thoughts, feelings, attitude, and point of view. The asanas, or postures, that so many of us know today as "yoga" were designed to unlock energy in the body and mind as an aide for examining how we are living our lives in regard to the Yoga Sutras. There are 196 Yoga Sutras, and of those 196, only three mention asanas (poses). What does this all mean? It means yoga is much more than practicing poses!
It is very important to us at Fearless Yoga to live our yoga practice as fully as we can! Some examples of what that looks like are:
We often hold Donation Based Yoga classes and give all the money raised to the Marathon County Humane Society to help those who have no voice of their own. We all have fur babies of some kind at home, so this is very near and dear to our hearts!
Donation Based Yoga Classes are also held for other animals in need in our community, such as, extensive and expensive vet bills. The studio is a great place for awareness to such situations. The love, kindness, and connection that arise during these unique classes is unfathomable!
Jo donates her time to Junior Achievement, spending time in grade schools working with children on projects that build a strong sense of community. Being a former teacher, she gets to spend time with kids again, and that is simply very cool!
We also have a strong connection with the Make A Difference Challenge LLC. An organization established and run soley by Jo’s awesome children, Bennet and Bronte. Check out how amazing it is! Here’s a link to their website: makeadifferencechallengellc.com
